Attorney Biographies: Robert D. H. Floyd

 

Robert D. H. Floyd graduated magna cum laude and with University Honors from Brigham Young University (B.A., political science, B.A., German, 2001).  He is also a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (M.A., political science, 2004) and the George Mason University School of Law (J.D., 2007).  While an undergraduate, he was the recipient of BYU’s Howard W. Hunter Presidential Scholarship and appointed the Department of Political Science’s valedictorian.  He served on the senior staff of the Federal Circuit Bar Journal and wrote a note on federal trade adjustment assistance.  With James E. Byrne, he co-authored “Shaanxi Jinshan TCI Electronics Corp. v. FleetBoston Financial Corp.” in Documentary Credit World, vol. 9, no. 2 (February, 2005).  Also with Professor Byrne he co-authored several entries in the 2005 Annual Survey of Letter of Credit Law & Practice, edited by James E. Byrne and Christopher S. Byrnes, and published by the Institute for International Banking Law & Practice (2005).  His areas of legal interest include appellate practice, negotiable instrument, securities, and partnership law. Mr. Floyd is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
